Pune: In a tragic incident, an 18-year-old youth was found dead by hanging in an abandoned bungalow near a press site opposite Panchsheel Nagar, adjacent to Yerwada Jail. The incident came to light on March 17, 2025, around 10:30 AM, when the Yerwada Police Control Room received information about the case.
Upon arrival, police identified the deceased as Sahil Vilas Kamble, a resident of Dhanori, Vishrantwadi, Pune. His body was retrieved and sent to Sassoon Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The case has been registered as at Yerwada Police Station.
According to preliminary findings, no suspicious injuries were found on the deceased’s body. The post-mortem report confirmed that he died by hanging.
Following legal formalities, the body was handed over to the family for the last rites. The deceased’s father, Vilas Shivram Kamble (45), has provided a statement to the police. Further investigations are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances leading to the incident.
Authorities are urging citizens to seek mental health support and assistance if facing distress.
