New Delhi : Union Home Minister Amit Shah has revealed the secret behind his robust health and medicine-free life, offering a powerful message to citizens across the country, especially the youth. Speaking at an event organized by the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) in New Delhi on the occasion of World Liver Day, Shah said, “For the past few years, I haven’t taken any medication. The secret lies in disciplined living—daily exercise, mindful eating, and sound sleep.”
Shah emphasized the importance of two hours of physical activity and at least six hours of quality sleep each day, describing it as not just essential for physical well-being but also for mental stability. “In the race of life, people forget themselves. But if your body doesn’t cooperate, you cannot achieve anything meaningful,” he stated.
Sharing insights from his personal journey, Shah disclosed that since May 2020, he has brought about significant changes in his lifestyle. “I walk daily, practice yoga, ensure proper hydration, eat healthy, and make time for rest. These habits have made a major difference. Today, I am completely free from all medicines—including insulin,” he said, underlining the transformative power of healthy living.
In an era marked by increasing health issues like diabetes, hypertension, insomnia, and anxiety, Shah’s statement came as a reminder that preventive care begins with daily choices. “Stress, sleeplessness, and poor eating habits are the root cause of most illnesses. Instead of running after cures, why not adopt a life that doesn’t require them?” he asked.
He also addressed India’s youth directly, urging them to invest in their health. “You still have 40 to 50 years ahead of you to contribute to the nation’s progress. I appeal to you—devote two hours each day to your body, and six hours to quality sleep for your mind. That is the minimum you owe to yourself and your country,” he said.
Experts at the ILBS event lauded Shah’s commitment to wellness and his advocacy for preventive healthcare. The Home Minister’s message aligns with the broader goals of Ayushman Bharat and Fit India Movement, where the emphasis is on reducing the disease burden through awareness, lifestyle correction, and fitness.
Shah’s health mantra—discipline over dependence, routine over remedies—resonates especially in a post-COVID world, where immunity and mental resilience have taken center stage. His example stands as a compelling call to all Indians: “Your body is your biggest asset—treat it with care, and it will take you further than any medicine ever can.”
