Pune: In a action against drug peddling, the Anti-Narcotics Cell-1 of Pune Police apprehended two youths near the Sinhgad Institute of Management for illegal possession of ganja. The accused, identified as Nitin Bhauasaheb Gopal (20) and Lucky Chhotu Pawar (19), both residents of Dhule, were found with 4.801 kg of ganja valued at Rs 96,020, along with two mobile phones worth Rs 20,000.
The arrests were made during an operation led by Senior Police Inspector Ulhas Kadum, along with API Aniket Pote and Police Sub-Inspector Vaishali Bhosale. The operation was conducted under the directives of Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Shailesh Balkawade and Deputy Commissioner of Police Nikhil Pingle.
Authorities are now probing the source of the seized drugs and investigating whether the duo is linked to a broader narcotics distribution network. The incident occurred near the gate of the Sinhgad Institute of Management, located on Sinhgad Road in Pune.
