Pune: To pay tribute to the innocent victims of the German Bakery bomb blast in Koregaon Park and to condemn the terrorist attack, a silent protest will be observed on February 13. Social organizations in Pune have urged citizens to participate in large numbers and express their opposition to terrorism.
In a press release, organizers stated that on February 13, 2010, terrorists carried out a bomb blast at German Bakery in Pune, killing 17 people and injuring 56 others. Every year, tributes are paid to those who lost their lives in this blast. This year marks the 15th anniversary of the attack. For the past 14 years, tributes have been offered by Mere Apne organization’s president Balasaheb Runwal, Dr. Mansi Jadhav, and Snehal Kharose from German Bakery. As in previous years, on February 13, homage will be paid to the 17 victims. Additionally, a silent vigil will be observed from 10 AM to 8 PM.
Since this is a silent tribute, no speeches will be delivered, and no sound system will be used. Only a stage will be set up for the event. Citizens of Pune are urged to gather at German Bakery in Koregaon Park on February 13, between 10 AM and 8 PM, to express their solidarity and condemnation of terrorism. This appeal has been made by Balasaheb Runwal, Catalyst Foundation President Sunil Mane, Dalit Sena President Sunil Yadav, Dr. Mansi Jadhav, and Snehal Kharose of German Bakery.
Memorial Gathering in Koregaon Park
This year marks 15 years since the German Bakery bomb blast in Koregaon Park. On this occasion, local residents and social activists will pay tribute to the victims. A memorial gathering has been organized at 7:15 PM, and Women’s Congress Vice President Sangeeta Tiwari has urged everyone to attend the event.
