Pune: A shocking incident in Pune’s Yerwada area has sparked public outrage after an intoxicated youth stopped his BMW car in the middle of the road and urinated in public. When confronted by locals, he allegedly made obscene gestures before speeding away in his vehicle.
A video of the incident quickly went viral on social media, leading to the identification of the main accused, Gaurav Manoj Ahuja, who was driving the car, while Bhagyash Nibjiya Oswal was seated beside him. Following the uproar, Yerwada police registered a case against both individuals.
In the latest development, the police have arrested Bhagyash Nibjiya Oswal, while Gaurav Manoj Ahuja remains absconding. A special police team has been deployed to track him down.
The incident has ignited political reactions, with several leaders demanding strict action against the accused. In response, a protest was staged outside Cream Kitchen, a beer bar owned by Gaurav Manoj Ahuja at Laxmi Narayan Chowk in Swargate. The demonstration, led by Gulabo Gang president Sangeeta Tiwari, saw protesters vent their anger by striking Ahuja’s photo with shoes and setting it on fire.
Protesters also alleged that alcohol consumption was ongoing inside the hotel during the demonstration. Additionally, they demanded action against Gaurav Ahuja’s father, Manoj Ahuja, holding him accountable for his son’s actions.
As the investigation continues, police are intensifying efforts to locate and apprehend the main accused.
