Thane: A rape case has been registered against Prithviraj Patil, the nephew of former Minister of State for Home Satej Patil, at Kapurbawdi police station in Thane. Prithviraj Patil is also the grandson of former Governor Dr. D.Y. Patil.
A 29-year-old medical student has accused him of sexually assaulting her under the pretext of marriage and later forcing her to undergo an abortion. The survivor, a resident of a high-profile housing complex, alleged that she was repeatedly assaulted in Thane, Navi Mumbai, and primarily at Patil’s bungalow in Kolhapur.
According to the complaint filed on March 7, the accused also physically attacked and threatened her multiple times. The victim has submitted medical records of the abortion, along with chat messages as evidence, to the police. An investigation is underway.
