Pune: A 36-year-old resident of Oxy Prime Society, Bakori Phata, fell victim to a credit card scam after being misled by an unknown individual over a phone call. The scammer convinced him to apply for a Master Credit Card from ICICI Bank, ultimately leading to a fraudulent transaction.
Between January and March 2025, the victim, Parvinder Singh, unknowingly allowed the fraudster to gain access to his banking details. Within minutes, a total of ₹3,80,260 was transferred to multiple bank accounts without his consent.
Following the complaint, a case has been registered against the unidentified fraudster, as well as the mobile number and bank account holders involved in the scam. The police have launched an investigation to trace those responsible and recover the lost funds.
