Pune: A shocking case of gang rape has come to light in Pune, where an IT engineer was sexually assaulted by her boyfriend and his three friends. The victim’s boyfriend first sexually assaulted her in a car and then called his friends, who also took turns raping her.
Following the incident, the Hadapsar police have registered a case against the accused boyfriend, Tamim Harsalla Khan, along with his three accomplices. The victim, originally from Karnataka, works as an IT engineer in a reputed company in Pune. She met Tamim on Facebook in 2021, and over time, their acquaintance turned into a romantic relationship. The accused lured her with false promises of marriage and trapped her.
The victim had traveled to Mumbai’s Kandivali area to meet Tamim. They stayed at a hotel, where the accused allegedly spiked her cold drink with sedatives. Once she lost consciousness, he sexually assaulted her. He then took her to Pune in his car and continued to exploit her. Later, Tamim called his three friends, who also raped the victim in turns.
Shockingly, after the crime, the accused blackmailed the victim, threatening to leak her private photos. They extorted ₹30 lakh from her and also took two iPhones.
The incident has caused outrage, and police investigations are underway to ensure the accused face strict legal action.
