Pune: Police have arrested an interstate thief who had been committing house burglaries while traveling on a two-wheeler. The suspect, who had committed a burglary in the Warje Malwadi area, was caught after a police operation. The police seized a two-wheeler, along with cutting tools, a cutter, and a wrench from the accused.
The arrested individual has been identified as Venkatesh Ramesh Vynki (22), a resident of Gandhinagar, Challakere, District Chitradurga, Karnataka. Vynki originally hails from Karnataka.
According to police reports, the accused Vynki would travel to Pune from other states on his two-wheeler and commit house burglaries across the city. Police officers Gnaneshwar Chitte and Ganesh Shinde from the Warje Malwadi police station received information about Vynki. Subsequently, the police team set up a trap in the Karvenagar area and apprehended him. The police seized his two-wheeler and found cutting tools, a cutter, a wrench, and a screwdriver in the bike’s trunk.
Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police for Division Three Sambhaji Kadam and Assistant Commissioner Bhau Saheb Patare, the operation was carried out by Senior Police Inspector Vishwajeet Kaingde, Sub-Inspector Sanjay Narlay, and other police personnel from Warje Malwadi Police Station.
Upon interrogation, the police discovered that Vynki had committed burglaries in areas such as Lonikand, Ambegaon, and Bavdhan. Additionally, it was revealed that he had stolen the two-wheeler from the Hadapsar area.
