Pune: A woman from Pune has been booked by the police after her dog allegedly bit a passerby in the Budhwar Peth locality, raising concerns about pet ownership and public safety.
The incident occurred early on Wednesday when Niraj Prakash Patil, a 23-year-old resident of Akurdi, was walking through a lane near Ratan Talkies. Patil reported that he was bitten by a dog on his waist while passing through the area, leading him to file a First Information Report (FIR) at Vishrambag Police Station.
The dog’s owner, identified as Manisha Malegaonkar from Budhwar Peth, has been charged under Section 291 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for negligent behavior regarding her pet.
