Mumbai: A tragic incident has occurred at Dinanath Mangeshkar Hospital in Pune, where Mrs. Tanisha Bhise lost her life allegedly due to the lack of timely medical treatment. Taking serious note of the matter, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has ordered a detailed inquiry into the case through a committee of expert doctors.
Deputy CM Pawar has already obtained a full report from the Pune District Collector. The Health Department has been instructed to carry out a transparent and impartial investigation on priority. Although the hospital administration has presented its version to the media, the government will conduct a thorough inquiry involving all concerned parties and take appropriate action accordingly.
The government has acknowledged the concerns raised by individuals, organizations, and protestors regarding this unfortunate incident. If anyone is found guilty after the investigation, strict action will be taken under the law. The administration has also been directed to implement measures to prevent such incidents in the future. Deputy CM Ajit Pawar has appealed to the public to remain calm and cooperate with the authorities during this process.
The incident occurred on Thursday when Mrs. Tanisha Bhise, wife of Sushant Bhise—PA to BJP MLC Amit Gorkhe—passed away during childbirth. It is alleged that the renowned Dinanath Mangeshkar Hospital refused to proceed with the operation unless an immediate payment of Rs. 10 lakh was made. The hospital allegedly advised the family to take the patient to Sassoon Hospital if they couldn’t arrange the money. The woman was later shifted to another hospital, where she gave birth to twins. Sadly, she passed away soon after delivery.
