Despite repeated denials, the truth has come to light through CCTV footage: Dinanath Mangeshkar Hospital in Pune kept pregnant Tanisha Bhise waiting for more than five and a half hours without providing her any treatment. The footage contradicts the hospital’s earlier claims and has sparked public outrage across the city.

The hospital had been accused of refusing to treat Bhise due to non-payment of a deposit and is now facing backlash for contributing to the pregnant woman’s tragic death. Hospital trustee Dhananjay Kelkar had earlier claimed that he personally told the family to pay whatever amount they could afford and then left. However, CCTV footage has now proven that this claim was false as well.

While the police have examined the CCTV evidence, they stated that they currently cannot take direct action against the hospital. They will be writing to the Superintendent of Sassoon General Hospital requesting a formal report on the matter.

Tanisha Bhise was brought to Dinanath Mangeshkar Hospital in severe labor pain, but the hospital allegedly demanded a deposit of ₹10 lakh before initiating treatment. Caught off guard, the family struggled to arrange the amount. Even after offering to pay ₹2.5 to ₹3 lakh, the hospital refused to admit the pregnant woman or begin her treatment.

In response to the accusations, the hospital had formed an expert committee that concluded no money was demanded. However, the Bhise family has rejected this report, calling it “entirely false.” They insisted they were at the hospital for over three to four hours trying to arrange payment and had specifically asked authorities to check the CCTV footage — which has now confirmed their version of events.
