Pune: A major breakthrough was achieved in an attempted murder case when Swargate Police arrested Prakash alias Pakya Tulshiram Pawar (23) following a well-executed operation in Upper Indiranagar. Pawar, along with his accomplice Sachin Mane, was accused of attempting to murder Rahul Kiran Dhole, a resident of Gultekdi, Maharshinagar, Pune. The victim filed a case on 04/04/2025, leading to charges under the Indian Judiciary Code 2023, Arms Act, Maharashtra Police Act, Criminal Law Amendment, and attempted murder.

Upon recognizing the gravity of the situation, Senior Police Inspector Yuvraj Nandre swiftly took action and issued an arrest warrant for the main suspect. To locate Pawar, two police teams were formed, and the investigation intensified. A breakthrough occurred when Police Officer Vikram Sawant received a tip from a confidential informant, revealing that Pawar was heading toward VIT Hostel Chowk in Upper Indiranagar.

Acting on this tip, the police set up a trap, and on 05/04/2025, Pawar was apprehended, accompanied by two minor children. During questioning, Pawar and Mane confessed to attempting to kill Dhole with a country-made pistol and a sharp weapon. They were arrested, and Pawar was remanded in police custody for three days.

The investigation led to the seizure of a country-made pistol, a magazine, a live cartridge, a sharp weapon, and the vehicle involved in the crime. Legal action is also being pursued against the minors involved in the incident.

The successful operation was carried out under the guidance of Pune City Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, Joint Commissioner Ranjan Kumar Sharma, and Additional Commissioner Praveen Patil. The operation was led by Senior Police Inspector Yuvraj Nandre, Police Inspector Vikas Bharmal, and the dedicated team from Swargate Police Station. Their efforts have ensured that the suspects are brought to justice.
