Pune: In light of the upcoming Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti processions across Pune on Monday, April 14, the Pune Traffic Police have announced several traffic diversions to manage the expected surge of crowds and ensure safe and efficient movement of vehicles. The diversions, ordered by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Amol Zende, will come into effect at 6:00 AM and remain in place until the crowd disperses.
District Collector Office Area:
Shahir Amar Shaikh Chowk to Maldhakka Chowk: Traffic will be diverted via RTO Chowk – Jahangir Chowk.
RTO Chowk to Maldhakka Chowk: Vehicles will follow either Jahangir Chowk or via Shahir Amar Shaikh Chowk – Khumbharwada.
GPO Chowk to Bolhai Chowk: Traffic will be rerouted via Kirad Chowk – Nehru Memorial Chowk.
Pune Station Chowk to Maldhakka Chowk: Vehicles will be diverted via Alankar Chowk.
Narpatgiri Chowk to Maldhakka Chowk: Traffic will go via 15 August Chowk – Kamala Nehru Hospital – Pawale Chowk – Khumbharwada Chowk.
Dr. Banerjee Chowk to Shahir Amar Shaikh Chowk: Traffic will be diverted via Power House Chowk – Narpatgiri Chowk – 15 August Chowk – Kamala Nehru Hospital – Pawale Chowk – Khumbharwada Chowk.
Emergency access to Sassoon Hospital will be via the gate next to the mortuary. These changes will remain in effect from 6:00 AM until the crowd disperses.

Parking Arrangements for Devotees:
SSPMS Ground near RTO (for two-wheelers and four-wheelers)

Aurora Tower Camp Area:
Dr. Coyaji Road to Nehru Chowk: Traffic will be diverted at Teen Tofa Chowk via SBI House Chowk.
ISKCON Temple Chowk to Aurora Towers: Traffic will be rerouted via SBI House – Teen Tofa Chowk – Dr. Coyaji Road.
Nehru Chowk to Teen Tofa Chowk: Vehicles will follow Kirad Chowk – Blue Nile Chowk – SBI House.
Naz Chowk to Aurora Towers: Traffic will be diverted via Batlivala Garden Road.
No Parking Zones:
Dorabjee Chowk to Aurora Towers to Teen Tofa Chowk
Aurora Towers to Naz Chowk and Tarapore Road Junction
Parking for Devotees Visiting Aurora Tower:
Vehicles should be parked at Tarapore Road, East Street, or other nearby Pay-and-Park locations.
Vishrantwadi Area Traffic Diversions:
Vehicles from Vishrantwadi Chowk to Airport/Tingrenagar will be diverted via Mental Corner – Commerce Zone Chowk – Tingrenagar Airport Road.
Two-wheelers heading towards Bopkhel, Dighi, Bhosari, Alandi will follow Shantinagar Chowk – Chavan Chawl – Machhi Market – Kalas Phata – Bopkhel – Alandi Road.
Auto-rickshaws, cars, and heavy vehicles will be restricted beyond Mental Corner.
Other diversions for specific routes in Vishrantwadi include Chandrama Chowk, Holkar Bridge, Khadki Route, 509 Chowk, and others. These changes will take effect from 3:00 PM on April 14 until the crowd disperses.
Sinhagad Road Junction (Dandekar Bridge) Diversions:
Traffic from Swargate to Sinhagad Road: Vehicles will be diverted via Savarkar Chowk – Thorale Bajirao Path – Kalpana Hotel Chowk – Fadke Chowk – Mangirbaba Chowk – Senadatta Police Chowky – Balshivaji Chowk – Asha Hotel Chowk.
Traffic from Sinhagad Road to Swargate: The diversion will follow the reverse route.
These diversions will be in effect from 7:00 PM on April 13 to 2:00 AM on April 14, and from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM on April 14.
Bajirao Road Diversion:
Traffic towards Shivajinagar via Bajirao Road will be diverted at Puram Chowk to Tilak Road – Alka Talkies Chowk – Khandujibaba Chowk.
Ganesh Road Diversions:
Traffic from Kamala Nehru Hospital to Ganesh Road will go via Laxmi Road.
Traffic from Sonya Maruti Chowk to Fadke Haud Chowk will go via Laxmi Road.
Traffic from Pawale Chowk to Fadke Haud Chowk will go via Agarwal Road.
These traffic changes are aimed at ensuring smooth movement during the busy Ambedkar Jayanti processions and will be enforced until the crowds disperse.
