Pune: A 24-year-old woman involved in the illegal sale of cannabis and theft in the Nagar Road area has been externed from Pune city, Pimpri-Chinchwad, and Pune district. The externment order was issued by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 4) Himmat Jadhav, following a detailed proposal submitted by local law enforcement.
The woman, identified as Chhakuli Rahul Kusale, a resident of Gayran Vasti in Wagholi, has a history of criminal activity. According to police sources, Kusale has multiple cases registered against her at the Wagholi and Lonikand police stations. These include charges related to the illegal possession and sale of cannabis, theft, and even escaping police custody.
Despite her criminal activities, local residents were reportedly too intimidated to come forward and lodge complaints, fearing retaliation. Her presence in the community had created an atmosphere of fear, prompting the police to take stringent action.
Senior Police Inspector Pandit Rejitwad, Sub-Inspector Vaijnath Kedar, and officers Sagar Kadu and Kamlesh Shinde from Wagholi Police Station prepared a formal proposal for Kusale’s externment. The document was reviewed and verified by Assistant Commissioner Pranjali Sonawane, and subsequently approved by DCP Jadhav. As per the order, Kusale has been banished from the region for a period of one year.
