Pune: In a spine-chilling incident reminiscent of the popular crime thriller Money Heist, three masked and armed intruders stormed a residential society in Pune’s Dhanori area, leaving residents shaken and alarmed.
The incident occurred in the early hours of April 8 at Sidra Garden Cooperative Housing Society. Dressed in black and wielding sickles (koytas), the men entered the society premises between 4 and 5 a.m., triggering panic among locals.
CCTV footage captured the trio roaming the society’s compound and making an apparent attempt to break into a flat. Although the intruders did not manage to steal anything, their suspicious activity sparked serious concerns among the residents.
An official complaint has been filed at the Vishrantwadi Police Station, and a copy has also been forwarded to the Pune Police Commissioner. The complaint describes how the unknown armed individuals trespassed and tried to force their way into a residence, terrifying the residents in the process.
This incident has reignited fear in a city already troubled by repeated sightings of the so-called “Koyta Gang”—a group known for using sharp weapons during unlawful activities. The intruders’ black outfits, face coverings, and weaponry drew strong comparisons to the notorious criminals portrayed in Money Heist.
Police have launched an investigation and are analyzing CCTV footage for clues. Security has been stepped up in the locality, and authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant.
