Pune: Two chain snatchers were arrested by the Warje-Malwadi police after a series of incidents where women were targeted on the service road of the highway in the Warje area. The police recovered stolen goods worth Rs 2.7 lakh and solved three cases.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Akash Ambadas Andhale (24, resident of Dagan Patil Nagar, Shivne) and Sujal Naresh Walmiki (20, resident of Dangat Patil Estate, Shivne).

According to police sources, several incidents had occurred in which young men riding motorcycles snatched gold chains from women on the service road of the highway in Warje. In response to these crimes and to prevent further incidents, a team was formed under the leadership of Police Sub-Inspector Sanjay Narlay.
