Pune: In an alarming rise of violence over petty disputes, a recent motorcycle parking altercation in Pune’s Harkanagar area led to a brutal attack on a man, his son, and a cousin. The group of assailants physically assaulted the trio, resulting in serious injuries, and an attempted murder case has been registered at Khadak Police Station. Four individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident.
The victims have been identified as Arif Mainuddin Shaikh (38), his son Ayaan, and his cousin Rizwan. Arif Shaikh filed a formal complaint with the Khadak Police, which led to the registration of an attempted murder case against Faizana Shaikh, Firoz Shaikh, Rehan Shaikh, Farhan Shaikh, Zeeshan Shaikh, Wasim Shaikh, Asif Shaikh, Nasima Shaikh, Nafisa Shaikh, Shaheen Shaikh, Shainaz Shaikh, and Tabbasum Shaikh.
According to the police, the altercation began when Ayaan parked his motorcycle in the Harkanagar area. One of the accused kicked the motorcycle, leading to a verbal argument. When Arif and Ayaan confronted the assailants, the situation escalated quickly, with the attackers using abusive language and physically assaulting the victims. During the scuffle, Firoz Shaikh stabbed Ayaan in the back, leaving him severely injured. The incident took place around midnight on Wednesday.
The police investigation is currently being led by Assistant Police Inspector Harshal Kadam.
