Pune: A daring theft took place at the Tanishq Jewellery showroom in Shivajinagar on Saturday, April 3, when an unidentified individual absconded with a gold chain valued at ₹2.6 lakh.
The suspect, estimated to be between 25 and 30 years of age, entered the store posing as a customer interested in buying a gold chain. As per the complaint lodged by Gayatri Chetan Chavan (25), a resident of Ravetgaon, the man selected a chain and then asked the sales assistant to fetch a matching pendant from a different section of the showroom. Seizing the opportunity while the employee was momentarily away, he swiftly grabbed the chain and escaped.
The Shivajinagar Police have filed an FIR in the matter, and Police Sub-Inspector Bade has been assigned to lead the investigation. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage and continuing efforts to identify and apprehend the culprit.
