New Delhi, May 8, 2025 – Pakistan attempted to strike three Indian military stations at Jammu, Pathankot and Udaipur with missiles and unmanned drones today, but the Indian Armed Forces repelled all attacks swiftly and decisively. Employing both kinetic and non-kinetic countermeasures in strict accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), the forces neutralized every incoming threat without suffering any human or material losses.

In a post on X, Integrated Defence Services (IDS) reported that “Pakistan targeted military stations near the International Border at Jammu, Pathankot and Udaipur using missiles and drones.” Eight missiles fired from across the border toward the Satwari, Samba, RS Pura and Arnia sectors were intercepted by India’s air-defence units. Simultaneously, hostile drones were detected and downed before they could inflict any damage.

This latest barrage follows India’s “Operation Sindoor,” under which precision strikes were carried out against terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan. In apparent retaliation, Pakistan sought to escalate hostilities, but today’s robust defensive response underscored India’s enhanced readiness. Loud explosions heard in Pathankot, Hoshiarpur and Amritsar prompted local authorities to impose blackout conditions and advise residents to remain indoors until the threat was contained.

An official statement from the Ministry of Defence reiterated that India stands fully prepared to safeguard its sovereignty and protect its citizens. “The seamless coordination of our kinetic and non-kinetic capabilities has once again demonstrated the strength and resilience of India’s defence apparatus,” the statement said.

In the wake of these developments, the government has convened a high-level committee to review border security measures and fine-tune operational protocols. Citizens living near the Line of Control have been urged to stay vigilant and follow any instructions issued by local authorities.
