Pune: Amid the ongoing conflict between India and Pakistan, the Kondhwa Police have arrested a 19-year-old girl for allegedly posting pro-Pakistan and anti-India content on social media, including the slogan ‘Pakistan Zindabad’.
According to a complaint filed by Subhash Mahadev Jarande, Police Constable from the Special Intelligence Unit at Kondhwa Police Station, the incident occurred on May 9, 2025, during his cyber monitoring duty between 9 AM and 9 PM.
While reviewing social media content, Jarande came across a post from an account named ‘REFORMISTAN/DR. MAARIB’, containing provocative statements supporting Pakistan and criticizing India’s actions and policies in Kashmir, along with direct allegations of war-mongering. The post reportedly stated that India had initiated war without evidence and labeled Indian actions as “Hindutva terrorism” and a “fanatic Islamophobic display”.
The post was allegedly shared by the girl via her Instagram handle i..khad, intending to disturb public peace and incite hostility.
Police confirmed that the accused has been booked under IPC Sections 152, 196, 197, 299, 352, and 353, and was taken into custody.
Senior police officials warned that strict action will be taken against those misusing social media to promote anti-national sentiments, adding that the investigation is currently underway.
