Pune: A tragic confrontation between two friends near Jambhulawadi Lake Dam in Pune’s Ambegao locality on the night of June 14, 2025, ended in a fatality. Around 10:30 PM, a dispute erupted between 22-year-old Rohit Namdev Dhamal and 19-year-old Suraj Ganesh Suryavanshi. During the argument, Suryavanshi allegedly struck Dhamal on the head with a stone, inflicting critical injuries.
Dhamal was immediately taken to the hospital but unfortunately passed away due to the severity of his wounds. Following the incident, the Ambegao police registered a case against Suryavanshi under applicable legal provisions. Senior Police Inspector Shard Zine, accompanied by Assistant Police Inspector Gore, visited the site and is overseeing the ongoing investigation.
Authorities revealed that the two were friends, though the cause of their quarrel remains unclear as the probe continues. Suryavanshi is currently evading arrest, with police actively searching for him to bring him into custody.
