Bhandara: A massive explosion at the Jawaharnagar Ordnance Factory in Bhandara district claimed the lives of five people earlier today. The incident occurred at around 11 a.m., shaking the area with its intensity. The impact of the blast was felt several kilometers away, leaving residents in a state of panic.
The explosion took place in the C Section building number 23 of the factory, which is involved in the production of explosives and ammunition. Authorities fear that the death toll might rise given the magnitude of the blast. Reports indicate that the sound of the explosion was heard within a 3-4 km radius, causing people to rush out of their homes and vehicles to stop on the roads.
The ordnance factory is located near Jawaharnagar, close to Bhandara city. Following the blast, a massive fire broke out, with plumes of smoke visible from a distance. Eyewitnesses captured the aftermath on their mobile phones, showing the devastating impact of the explosion.
Police rushed to the scene upon receiving the news, and the injured were immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Emergency services are continuing rescue operations, fearing more casualties.
