Pune: A young man lost his life after being hit by an unknown vehicle while walking on the road in the dark.
The incident took place before 6:00 AM on 21st June near Aditya Hotel, Bahul, on the Chakan–Shikrapur Road. Regarding this, Sohan Ravindra Gangawane (age 24, an ambulance driver, resident of Bahul, Taluka Khed) lodged a complaint at Chakan Police Station at 9:30 AM.
According to the police, the complainant’s cousin, Satish Milind Gangawane (age 32, resident of Bahul, Taluka Khed, District Pune), was walking on the Chakan–Shikrapur Road when an unknown driver, driving an unidentified vehicle at high speed and negligently without regard to the road conditions, struck him in the dark. The impact caused serious head injuries to Satish Gangawane, leading to his death.
The complainant alleged that the unidentified driver fled the scene after the accident without helping the injured or reporting the incident. Accordingly, a legal complaint has been lodged against the unknown driver at the police station.
