Lonavala : A theft has been reported at the bungalow of Bollywood actress Sangeeta Bijlani located in the scenic Pawana Dam area near Lonavala. The incident came to light on July 18 when the actress visited the property after a gap of several months. Thieves are suspected to have stolen a television worth ₹7,000 and ₹50,000 in cash, totaling losses of ₹57,000. An FIR has been registered at Lonavala Rural Police Station.
According to police reports, the complaint was filed by Mohammad Mujib Khan, a private employee working for Sangeeta Bijlani. He informed the police that the bungalow, located in the Tikona Peth locality, had been unoccupied between March 7 and July 18, 2025.
The theft was discovered around 9:30 a.m. on July 18 when Bijlani arrived at the bungalow. Preliminary investigations reveal that the burglars broke in through the rear side of the property by damaging the compound wall. They then entered the first floor and made away with the television and the cash.
As soon as the theft was reported, officers from the Lonavala Rural Police Station, led by Police Inspector Dinesh Tayade, rushed to the scene. Sub-inspectors S.S. Bokad and Vijay Gale are currently investigating the case. Further inquiries are underway to identify and apprehend the culprits.
