Pimpri Chinchwad: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has allocated a total of Rs 2.22 crore for the installation of a new animal incinerator at the PCMC Veterinary Hospital, while Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Shekhar Singh has also sanctioned funds for various other infrastructure projects.

The electrical department had issued a tender for an incinerator at a cost of Rs 2.09 crore. Out of nine contractors, eight met the eligibility criteria. The bid from A. B. Electric & Company was approved after it came in 28.30% lower than competing offers. Because the bid rate was under 10%, the contractor is required to deposit an additional security amount of Rs 76.49 lakh.

In other developments, roads along the Mumbai-Bangalore Highway in Wakad, Tathawade, and Punawale will be developed using WMM and MPM methods. Landscaping is set to be enhanced at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Garden in Purnanagar and at the D.C. Circle in Indrayani Nagar, with asphalt work scheduled for roads in Shelarvasti and the local industrial area.

Additionally, pumping machinery will be installed at Kaverinagar, and several construction projects are planned in Kaspatewasti, Kaverinagar, Venu Nagar, and surrounding areas.
Upgrades in healthcare infrastructure include the development of the OPD and Jijau Clinic at the Yamunanagar Health Centre in Nigdi Gaothan, as well as the installation of a gas cremation unit near Kalewadi Bridge in Pimpri’s crematorium. All these projects have received approval from the standing committee.
Furthermore, an additional Rs 61 lakh has been set aside for voter awareness initiatives. During the 2024 Assembly elections, extensive voter outreach was conducted in the Pimpri, Chinchwad, and Bhosari constituencies. The PCMC spent Rs 60 lakh on printing flexes and banners, along with Rs 38,850 on refreshments for drivers participating in a vintage car rally.

4Previously approved expenditures include Rs 30 lakh for purchasing water bottles for voters and Rs 27.64 lakh for other voter awareness programs.
