Pune:  In a remarkable show of gratitude and lifelong connection, the alumni of Ajeenkya DY Patil University gathered for the Alumni Meet 2025, where they announced the formation of the newly restructured Ajeenkya DY Patil University Alumni Association. This dedicated body will work to build a more connected alumni community, while contributing to the continued growth, development, and excellence of the university.
The Alumni Association is envisioned as a collaborative platform where alumni and the institution can engage meaningfully. Through this association, former students will support ongoing academic and strategic initiatives—such as curriculum development, NAAC accreditation, and student mentorship—bringing industry insights and real-world experience to the academic ecosystem. By doing so, the alumni reaffirm their commitment to the university’s progress and remain closely tied to their educational roots.
A new core committee was announced during the event, featuring six committed individuals from diverse academic backgrounds. These members will be at the forefront of alumni engagement, fostering connections across batches and disciplines, while spearheading initiatives that benefit students and the university community alike.
The event also celebrated the remarkable achievements of several alumni. Pratiksha Botre, a BA LLB graduate, was honoured with the Vice Chancellor’s Excellence Alumni Award for securing the post of Judicial Magistrate and Civil Judge in her very first attempt. P. K. Gautham, from the second PG batch of the School of Design, received the same award. The Alumni Start-Up Award was presented to Parth Jadhav and Atharva Thorat, while Kaustubh Wagh and Harsh Shedsale were conferred with the Excelsior Award. The Global Achiever Award was given to Apoorv Vibhandya, Abhishek Khanna, and Aarya Kamath in recognition of their success at an international level.
The ceremony was attended by key dignitaries including Vice Chancellor Dr. Rakesh Kumar Jain, Registrar Dr. Sudhakar Shinde, and the deans of various schools, Dr. Sunny Thomas (Law and Liberal Arts), Dr. Sunil Ingole, Dean, Academics, Dr. Vijay Kulkarni, School of Management,
Arc. Aparna Mhetras (Design), Dr. Chetna Mehta (Management), , Dr. Deepak Pandey (Hotel Management), and Dr. Dushyant Somwashi (Film and Media),
Dr. Bindiya Naik, School of Liberal Arts
Dr. Ipsita Swain, School of Engineering who all extended their support and appreciation for the new initiative.
“The Alumni Meet 2025 was more than just a reunion, it was a celebration of purpose, a rekindling of shared vision, and a reaffirmation that our alumni are not just past students, but active stakeholders in our journey ahead,” said Dr. Rakesh Kumar Jain, Vice Chancellor of ADYPU. “This association is a powerful step forward in deepening our connection with the ADYPU family and shaping a brighter future together.
