Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has died following a plane crash in Baramati(Ajit Pawar Plane Crash), according to statements attributed to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and local sources. The crash occurred on Wednesday morning as Pawar was arriving in his hometown to address four public meetings ahead of the Zilla Parishad elections.
As per initial information cited by DGCA, the Baramati aircraft crash resulted in five fatalities, including the senior NCP leader. Kiran Gujar, described as a close aide of Ajit Pawar and present at the local hospital, said, “All six people, including Ajit Pawar, were brought dead.” Officials added that emergency and medical teams were mobilized immediately after the incident. The mishap happened during landing at Baramati airport. Sharing details with Hindustan Times, Baramati airport manager Shivaji Taware said, “The aircraft VT SSK was attempting a landing when it went off the side of the runway and crashed.” He confirmed that the aircraft was a Learjet 45, chartered from Mumbai.
Ajit Pawar was en route to Baramati to address four public meetings linked to the upcoming Zilla Parishad polls when the crash occurred.
