Pune : Yugendra Pawar, the nephew of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, is all set to get married soon. Yugendra is the son of Ajit Pawar’s younger brother, Shrinivas Pawar. The news of his upcoming wedding was shared by Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar faction) MP Supriya Sule on social media, along with a photo of the couple—Yugendra and his fiancée, Tanishka Prabhu.
In her heartfelt post, Supriya Sule wrote, “Wishing Yugendra and Tanishka a beautiful journey ahead as they embark on this new chapter of their lives. May the Almighty bless them with happiness, harmony, and success.”
Though Sule did not reveal the date or other details of the wedding ceremony, it is confirmed that the engagement (sakharpuda) took place recently in an intimate family setting.
Born on April 22, 1991, Yugendra Pawar holds a degree in Finance and Insurance from Northeastern University, USA. He is currently the Executive Director of Sharyu Sugar Factory and also serves as the Treasurer of Vidya Pratishthan, a reputed educational institution in Baramati. Through the Sharyu Foundation, he has been actively involved in several grassroots initiatives in Baramati, Indapur, and Phaltan, including afforestation drives, deepening of streams, and construction of wells—all of which have earned him goodwill among the farming community.
He also serves as the President of the Baramati Taluka Wrestling Association and has a deep connection with rural sports and youth engagement.
In a notable political development during the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly Elections, Yugendra was fielded as a candidate by Sharad Pawar’s NCP faction to contest against his uncle, Ajit Pawar, from the Baramati Assembly constituency. However, Ajit Pawar emerged victorious in that high-stakes political battle.
Tanishka Prabhu hails from Mumbai and has pursued higher education in Finance abroad. The couple’s engagement was conducted privately, indicating the family’s preference for a traditional, close-knit celebration.
Earlier this year, on April 10, Ajit Pawar’s younger son, Jay Pawar, got engaged to Rutuja Patil. Following that, speculation about Yugendra’s wedding began to circulate. The buzz gained further momentum when senior leader Sharad Pawar jokingly said during Yugendra’s birthday, “How long should we keep congratulating him alone? We want to shower him with rice grains now (a traditional sign of marriage). Don’t delay it too long.”
It now seems the senior Pawar’s wish is coming true, as Yugendra becomes the second young member of the Pawar family to move toward matrimony this year.
