Pune : Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar stirred controversy with his comments during a public meeting in Baramati, where he angrily questioned citizens and workers, saying, “Did you make me your servant?” He further remarked, “Just because you voted doesn’t mean you own me.” The comments have ignited political debates and sparked dissatisfaction within various circles.
Pawar was on a tour of Baramati, inaugurating several development projects. During the inauguration of a petrol pump at Medha, he was interacting with workers and citizens when the incident occurred.
While Pawar was receiving petitions from citizens and instructing officials to expedite pending work, one worker raised concerns about unfinished projects. This led to a chain of complaints from citizens, which upset the Deputy CM. He responded with frustration, “Just because you voted doesn’t mean you own me. Did you make me your servant?”
This remark has caused a stir in political circles, with opposition parties criticizing Pawar for his outburst. However, Minister Sanjay Shirsat defended the Deputy CM, suggesting that the comment was made in the heat of the moment.
