Pune: Unidentified burglars broke into a residence and stole gold ornaments and cash collectively worth ₹11.25 lakh in Vadgaon Budruk off Sinhagad Road on Monday, June 23. The Sinhagad Road police have registered a case and begun an investigation.
According to the complaint lodged by Deepali Prasad Gurav (34), a resident of Sadgurukrupa Building, Renukanagari, Vadgaon Budruk, the theft occurred while she was away at a hospital in Deccan Gymkhana, where her father is undergoing treatment.
Police reports stated that Gurav left her house at around 10:30 a.m. to visit the hospital. Upon returning around 6 p.m., she found the front door lock broken. Inside, she discovered the bedroom cupboard had been ransacked and gold jewelry along with cash, amounting to ₹11.25 lakh, missing.
Assistant Police Inspector Kadam of Sinhagad Road police station is leading the investigation into the incident.
