Pune: A moving car suddenly caught fire, reducing the vehicle to ashes. Fortunately, no casualties were reported. The incident occurred around 9:30 PM on Monday in front of Ashoka Hotel at Dapodi Chowk.
The car was being driven by Gaurav Prakash Bora, who noticed smoke emerging from the engine compartment while driving through Dapodi Chowk. He immediately pulled over to the roadside. Within moments, the car caught fire. Acting swiftly, Bora exited the vehicle just in time as the fire intensified.
He promptly alerted the fire department. Firefighters arrived at the scene quickly, cordoned off the area around the car, and brought the blaze under control, preventing a major disaster.
The burning car in the middle of the road temporarily disrupted traffic flow. Meanwhile, a large crowd gathered at the spot to witness the incident.
Dapodi Police also arrived at the location, dispersed the crowd, and helped restore normal traffic movement.
Although the exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined, preliminary suspicion points towards an electrical fault, engine overheating, or a fuel leak. Further investigation is being conducted by Dapodi Police.
