Pune: A case has been registered against a housing society member and two individuals engaged in honey extraction for removing a beehive from a society building without prior permission and without considering the safety of the residents.
The accused have been identified as Govind Golah Mandal (age 38), Premkumar Suraj Mandal (age 30), both residents of Shinde Vasti, near the canal, Hadapsar, and Mallinath Nimbale. A complaint regarding the incident was lodged at the Sahakarnagar Police Station by Amit Asit Shah (age 44), a resident of Meghdoot Society, Dhankawadi. Based on his complaint, a case has been filed for recklessness and illegal sale of honey.
According to police information, one of the accused, Mallinath Nimbale, is also a resident of Meghdoot Society. On Wednesday (April 16) around 5 PM, without obtaining any prior permission from the society, he called Govind and Premkumar to remove a beehive from the society premises. The two men descended from the balcony using ropes, created smoke by burning dry leaves on the ground, and proceeded to remove the hive. They undertook this activity without any official approval from the society and without considering the safety of the residents, including young children.
Meanwhile, Shah filed a formal complaint at the Sahakarnagar Police Station, stating that the accused endangered human life by acting recklessly, removing the beehive without precautions, and illegally selling the extracted honey. Based on the complaint, a criminal case has been registered by the police.
