Pune: Residents across Pune will face a full-day water supply disruption on Thursday, April 3, 2025, as the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) undertakes critical maintenance work at several pumping stations and water treatment plants. Additionally, on Friday morning, April 4, water supply will be restored at low pressure in the affected areas.
According to the PMC Water Supply Department, the scheduled maintenance will involve essential electrical, mechanical, and structural repairs at key locations, including:
Parvati Water Treatment Plants (Old and New)
Bhama Askhed Water Facility
Holkar Water Centre
Vadgaon Water Centre
Rajiv Gandhi Pumping Station
Warje Water Centre
Several related reservoir sites
Areas Affected by Water Supply Disruption
The shutdown will impact multiple residential and commercial areas, including:
Central Pune: Guruwar Peth, Budhwar Peth, Nana Peth, Lohia Nagar, Mukund Nagar, Ghorpade Peth, Sahakarnagar, Bibwewadi, Maharshinagar, Gangadham, Lake Town, Shivtejanagar, and Upper Indiranagar.
Western Pune: Deccan, Shivajinagar, Swargate, Kothrud, Karve Nagar, Aundh, Baner, Balewadi, Bavdhan, Model Colony, Pashan, Gokhale Nagar, and Hingne.
Southern Pune: Katraj, Ambegaon, Dhankawadi, and Sinhagad Road localities.
Eastern Pune: Lohgaon, Viman Nagar, Vishrantwadi, Yerwada, Dhanori, Hadapsar, Mundhwa, Ramtekdi Industrial Area, Kharadi, EON IT Park, and Chandan Nagar.
PMC has advised residents to store sufficient water in advance and use it cautiously during the supply cut. Regular water supply will be gradually restored by Friday afternoon.
The civic body has urged citizens to plan their water usage accordingly and cooperate during this essential maintenance period.
