India: In a move that brings some relief to businesses, Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have once again lowered the prices of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders. Effective May 1, the price has been reduced by approximately ₹17 per cylinder. This price cut is expected to ease costs for restaurants, hotels, and other commercial establishments that rely heavily on LPG for daily operations.
However, there has been no revision in domestic LPG cylinder rates, meaning households will not benefit from any price reduction at this time.
This marks the second month in a row that commercial LPG prices have been lowered. In April, the price was cut by ₹41 per cylinder, following a ₹6 increase in March. These adjustments are generally aligned with changes in international fuel prices.
Updated Commercial LPG Cylinder Prices (as of May 1, 2025):
Delhi: ₹1,747.50
Kolkata: ₹1,851.50
Mumbai: ₹1,699
Chennai: ₹1,906
In comparison, April rates were slightly higher — ₹1,762 in Delhi, ₹1,868.50 in Kolkata, ₹1,713.50 in Mumbai, and ₹1,921.50 in Chennai.
While this reduction offers financial relief to the commercial sector, domestic users are still hoping for a downward revision in the coming months.
