Pune: A container truck overturned on the expressway at kilometer 45.500 near the Amritanjan bridge around 1:15 PM today, causing minor injuries to the driver and two helpers. The truck, registered as GJ-18-BV-1387, was traveling from Chennai to Mumbra, Thane, on its way to Mumbai from Pune, when the accident occurred on a downhill curve.
The driver, Mohammad Kaif, 22, a resident of Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh, and his two helpers were promptly provided with medical care at the scene by an IRB ambulance. The truck, which was carrying 15 tons of cargo, was successfully cleared using IRB’s puller and hydraulic equipment.
Maharashtra Highway Traffic Police from the Borghat station quickly responded to the incident, managing to clear the obstruction and restore normal traffic flow in the area.
