Pune: In a targeted operation against rising street crime, Pune Police’s Crime Branch Unit 6 arrested three fugitives in Kharadi early Thursday morning and recovered a lethal iron rod from their possession. Acting on a reliable tip‐off, Inspector Vahid Pathan led his team to the Thite settlement within Kharadi police limits at around 7:30 am on 8 May. There, officers located and detained Sagar Kalyan Mane, 33, of Rajiv Gandhi Nagar; Aditya Yuvraj Owhal, 27, of Sant Gadge Maharaj Vasahat; and Rithik Rajesh Ghadge, 25, also of Sant Gadge Maharaj Vasahat.
All three had been evading active absconder warrants issued by the Pune and Pimpri‐Chinchwad Police Commissionerates, in direct violation of orders prohibiting their entry into Pune city. During the raid, the unit recovered a sharpened iron rod, which has since been secured as material evidence, and registered a criminal case at Kharadi Police Station.
The operation was carried out under the overall supervision of Additional Commissioner Shailesh Balkawade, Deputy Commissioner Nikhil Pinglay, and Assistant Commissioner Rajendra Mulik. Key personnel involved in the raid included Sub‐Inspector Ramkrishna Dalvi, Inspector Pathan himself, and officers Ramesh Memane, Rishikesh Vyavahare, Sachin Pawar, Nitin Dhadge, Ganesh Dongre, Suhas Tambekar, Pratiksha Pansare, and Kirti Mandale.
