Pune: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Pune District Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar inaugurated the School Enrollment Drive 2025 by warmly welcoming students on the first day of the academic year at Zilla Parishad School, Alegaon Punarvasan, located in Daund taluka.
The event saw the presence of key officials including Group Development Officer Mahesh Dhoke, Group Education Officer Sanjay Mahajan, Extension Officer Sharifa Tamboli, Cluster Head Asha Dhadge, and former Zilla Parishad member Veerdhaval (Baba) Jagdale.
Reflecting on his own school experiences, Mr. Pawar underlined the government’s commitment to providing modern and quality education to students. He stated, “Ensuring quality education along with adequate infrastructure in every school is a moral responsibility of the state government.” He highlighted the state’s efforts to remove barriers to education by providing free textbooks, uniforms, and shoes to students.
Stressing the role of teachers, he urged educators to dedicate themselves to delivering quality knowledge to students.
Adding an environmental perspective to the occasion, Mr. Pawar spoke about the state’s ambitious 10 Crore Tree Plantation Program. He encouraged students to plant and nurture at least one tree each, aiming to promote environmental consciousness and ecological balance from an early age.
During the visit, Deputy CM Pawar also distributed textbooks and uniforms to the students, fostering a supportive learning environment.
The program was also attended by local leaders such as Alegaon Punarvasan’s Sarpanch Navanath Zhumbar Kadam, Headmistress Anita Khatal, Village Sevak Archana Bhagwat, and School Management Committee Chairman Sambhaji Kutwal.
