Pune: A shocking case of land fraud involving a fake guardianship certificate has come to light, with a disabled woman being swindled out of her property. The victim, Ashwini Khalatkar, filed a complaint through her representative, Manoj Bahirat (40), from Chandni Chowk. A case has now been registered at Bundgarden Police Station against the accused, Meghna Katekar (40) from Karvenagar and Vivek Kshirsagar (69) from Shivajinagar Gaothan.
According to the police, Ashwini Khalatkar, who is disabled, was targeted by the accused individuals who forged a guardianship certificate, claiming that Meghna Katekar was her legal guardian. The fraudulent certificate was processed through the Divyang Commissionerate in Pune. The certificate allowed the accused to sell land that was registered in Ashwini’s name for a significant amount of money. The illegal transactions took place over a period spanning from 2015 to 2025.
The case involves accusations of defrauding the state government through the creation of fake documents and a falsified guardianship certificate. While no arrests have been made yet, the Bundgarden police are actively investigating the matter.
