Pimpri Chinchwad: A 23-year-old man, heavily intoxicated, hit a 49-year-old woman pedestrian in Hinjawadi Phase III, causing both to fall into a roadside ditch. The accident occurred on Saturday, February 15, around 8 PM, resulting in serious injuries to the woman.
Due to the impact, the woman suffered critical spinal and arm injuries. Emergency responders were alerted, and she was rushed for medical treatment. Her condition remains under assessment as doctors evaluate the severity of her injuries.
The accused, Gokul Jaysingh Chavan, has been booked by Hinjawadi police. Authorities are investigating the case further, with the incident highlighting growing concerns about road safety and drunk driving in the area.
