Pune: In a shocking incident in Pune, a 71-year-old woman from Tingre Nagar was robbed of her gold jewellery valued at ₹2.75 lakh by three individuals posing as police officers. The crime took place on Saturday night near Joshi Wadewale, located on Airport Road in Vishrantwadi.
According to reports, the elderly woman and her husband were walking when they were approached by the trio, who claimed to be police officials conducting an investigation. They convinced the woman to remove her jewellery for “safety reasons,” and in a moment of distraction, the scammers stole the gold ornaments. It wasn’t until later that the woman realized her jewellery had been stolen and reported the incident to the Vishrantwadi police station.
The police are currently investigating the case, and further details are awaited.
