Pune: A shocking incident took place during a morning workout in Pune when a Rottweiler dog attacked an engineer, leaving him seriously injured on his hand and wrist. The Baner Police have registered a case against the dog’s handler.
The accused has been identified only as Abhi (full name and address yet to be confirmed). The complaint was lodged by Suyog Raut (49), a resident of Pancard Club Road, Baner. The incident occurred around 7:15 am on March 23 on the service road leading to Veerbhadranagar in the Pashan area.
According to the police, the dog was let loose without any safety precautions, despite the risk it posed to public safety. While jogging along Pancard Club Road, Raut heard footsteps rushing toward him from behind. Before he could react, the Rottweiler leapt on him and bit his hand and wrist.
The handler, who was reportedly not in control of the pet at the time, rushed to the scene and managed to restrain the dog with a leash. The case has been registered under relevant sections for negligence and endangering human life.
