Pune: A shocking murder in Loni Kalbhor has been solved in a swift investigation, revealing a chilling motive driven by an illicit affair. The victim, 45-year-old Ravindra Kashinath Kalbhor, was brutally attacked outside his home on March 31, resulting in fatal head injuries. His wife, Shobha Kalbhor, 42, and her lover, Gorakh Tryambak Kalbhor, 41, are accused of conspiring to murder Ravindra due to his interference in their extramarital relationship.
The incident occurred around 11 pm, and the victim was rushed to the hospital the following morning but was declared dead on arrival. The police were alerted at 7:30 am on April 1, and within three hours, they had cracked the case.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajkumar Shinde, along with Senior Police Inspector Rajendra Panhale, led the investigation team to the crime scene. DCP Shinde explained, “Through a series of inquiries and evidence gathering, we uncovered the plot behind Ravindra’s murder. His wife and her lover had planned the crime together to end his interference in their affair.”
Both Shobha and Gorakh were arrested after confessing to their roles in the murder during questioning. The police’s rapid response and thorough investigation have been commended by the community.
A case has been filed under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Maharashtra Police Act. The accused are currently in police custody as the investigation continues.
