Pune: A violent altercation broke out on NDA Road, where four individuals were assaulted with iron rods and bamboo sticks due to a dispute over the exclusion of a name on a flex banner. The incident, which occurred on Tuesday, March 18, has led to a case being registered at Uttamnagar Police Station.
Sanjay Rajendra Taware (36), a resident of Jambhali, Sangrun, Haveli, filed a complaint with the police, naming Rupesh Taware, Deepak Taware, Vaibhav Taware, and Vishnu Ughade as the primary accused. The authorities stated that the attack stemmed from anger over the missing name on the banner, and in retaliation, the accused targeted local youths.
When Sanjay Taware attempted to intervene and mediate, he, along with his associates—his brother Sandeep, Ganesh Choudhary, and Swapnil Babar—was assaulted by the accused using iron rods and bamboo sticks. The violent attack created a sense of fear among the residents of the village.
Police Sub-Inspector Atul Kshirsagar is investigating the case. Authorities are actively working on both this assault case and the earlier incident involving a minor in Khadki Bazaar, ensuring justice for the victims and maintaining law and order in the area.
