Pune: The law and order situation in Pune seems to be deteriorating, raising serious questions about the effectiveness of the Pune police. The police have already failed to catch the accused in the Swargate rape case, and now another shocking incident has come to light in the Bharati Vidyapeeth area. In this case, goons brutally assaulted a hotel owner and attempted to set him on fire. Fortunately, the hotel owner survived, but his two-wheeler was completely burnt.
This horrifying incident took place in the Bharati Vidyapeeth area late at night around 12:30 AM. A fight broke out between some young men outside a hotel in the Katraj area. The altercation escalated into a full-blown brawl right in front of the hotel.
Amit Khaire (29, resident of Ambegaon Pathar), the owner of the hotel, intervened and asked the miscreants to stop fighting in front of his establishment. However, his request enraged the goons, who then turned on him. They attacked Khaire, throwing a cement block at him.
Following the attack, Amit Khaire went to the Bharati Vidyapeeth police station to file a complaint. After registering the complaint, he was on his way to the hospital when the same criminals intercepted him on the road. They confronted him again, physically assaulted him, and then poured petrol from a bottle over him in an attempt to set him on fire.
Sensing the imminent danger to his life, the hotel owner abandoned his two-wheeler and ran for his safety. The criminals, instead, set his vehicle on fire, reducing it to ashes.
This incident highlights the increasing lawlessness in Pune, with goons operating fearlessly. The question remains: will the police take strict action, or will such crimes continue to escalate?
