Pune: Heavy rainfall hit various parts of the city around 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, leading to the collapse of trees at five different locations. The affected areas included Shaniwar Peth, Undri, Lohegaon, Yerwada, and Bibvewadi. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in any of these incidents.
Upon receiving the information, fire brigade personnel rushed to the spots and swiftly removed fallen branches, clearing the roads for traffic movement.
Due to the intense downpour lasting about an hour, waterlogging was reported in several parts of the city. However, the intensity of the rain reduced after 30 minutes. According to officials from the Fire Brigade’s main control room, there were no reports of water entering residential colonies.
The rain did slow down traffic movement on major roads such as Jungli Maharaj Road, Karve Road, Satara Road, Shankarsheth Road, Hadapsar Road, and Nagar Road. However, traffic police confirmed that there was no major disruption to the overall traffic flow across the city.
