Pune: Residents of Hinjawadi Phase 3 (Bhoirwadi region) are facing ongoing electricity troubles, with no substantial resolution from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL), despite numerous complaints. Over 10,000 families, including many IT professionals, are experiencing frequent power cuts, severely disrupting daily life.

Numerous residential complexes, such as Melange Residences, Fusion Towers, Livmo, Tinsel County, Coral, and 32 Pinewood, along with various PG accommodations, are forced to spend heavily on diesel to run essential services like lifts, water pumps, and lighting in common areas. For instance, Melange Residences reports an additional diesel expenditure of ₹7-10 lakh annually, adding a significant financial burden to residents.

Residents are growing increasingly frustrated with MSEDCL’s failure to ensure a steady power supply, especially as the government promotes renewable energy solutions. The reliance on diesel generators not only leads to high costs but also contributes to environmental damage. Local engineers have allegedly provided only temporary solutions, without offering a sustainable fix to the issue.

Community members are now calling on local authorities to step in and ensure that MSEDCL takes immediate action to resolve the problem. As Hinjawadi remains a vital IT hub, residents stress the importance of reliable infrastructure and uninterrupted electricity services, which they are already paying for.
