Pimpri-Chinchwad: A sudden internet outage at Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial (YCM) Hospital on the morning of April 17 caused major disruptions in patient services, leading to long queues and growing frustration among visitors. The hospital, operated by the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), witnessed a complete breakdown in its online systems, delaying both OPD consultations and patient admissions.
The glitch halted the mandatory registration process required for treatment and admission, causing inconvenience to hundreds of patients who had arrived early for medical assistance. The hospital staff, unable to access digital systems, resorted to manual processes, further slowing down operations.
Citizens and patients expressed strong dissatisfaction over the incident, demanding swift action from the hospital administration. Many have called for accountability from the concerned officials and urged the PCMC to implement robust backup systems to prevent such disruptions in the future.
As one patient noted, “We come here in urgent need, and such technical failures only add to our suffering. This should not happen in a major hospital.”
No official statement had been issued by hospital authorities at the time of reporting. However, the public continues to press for answers and long-term solutions to ensure uninterrupted healthcare services.
