Pune: In a swift and efficient operation, the Ambegaon Police arrested four individuals within 24 hours for their alleged involvement in the murder of a young man in Katraj, Pune, stemming from a land dispute.
The incident occurred in the early hours of April 20, 2025, near Omsai Mitra Mandal, Katraj. A case was promptly registered under IPC sections 103(3)(5), 115(2), 351(2), and 352. The investigation team, led by Assistant Police Inspector Swati Deodhar, used technical surveillance and intelligence inputs to trace one of the accused, Amar Dilip Sakore, to Mohol in Solapur district.
Police Sub-Inspector Mohan Kalamkar, along with constables Hanmant Masal, Dhanaji Dhotre, and Nitin Katurde, apprehended Sakore near Saadhan Hotel on the Mangalvedha-Solapur Highway. Upon interrogation, Sakore admitted to his role in the crime, leading to the arrest of three more individuals.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Amar Dilip Sakore (40), a resident of Santoshnagar, Katraj; Mandar Maruti Only (35), from New Colony, Katraj; Girish Subhash Babre (26), also from Santoshnagar, Katraj; and Yogesh Baburao Dore (35), residing in Khopdenagar, Katraj, Pune.
This successful operation was conducted under the leadership of Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, Joint Commissioner Ranjan Kumar Sharma, Additional Commissioner Pravin Kumar Patil, Deputy Commissioner Smartana Patil, and Assistant Commissioner Rahul Aware. The on-ground action was spearheaded by Senior Police Inspector Sharad Jhine and API Swati Deodhar, supported by a dedicated team of officers including Bhojling Dodmise, PSI Mohan Kalamkar, and several constables.
Further investigation into the case is currently underway.
