Pune: A shocking incident has occurred in Kharadi, where a person managed to steal a blank cheque and withdrew a significant amount of money, amounting to Rs. 50,39,000, from the victim’s bank account. The complainant, Vikram Mukund Yermalkar (41), a resident of Kharadi, reported the theft to the Kharadi Police Station, leading to the registration of a case against the accused.
The police investigation revealed that the accused, identified as Ramesh Vilas Temkar, a resident of Bhosari, gained the trust of Yermalkar between 2020 and 2023. Temkar allegedly stole a blank cheque from Yermalkar and later used it to withdraw the sum of Rs. 50,39,000 from his bank account without the complainant’s consent or prior knowledge.
The police have initiated further investigation into the matter, and the accused is currently under scrutiny. Authorities are working on identifying how the accused managed to forge the cheque and complete the withdrawal without alerting the victim.
